About Rosa

Rosa Rivera-McCutchen moved to New Rochelle in 2012 with her husband and three children. They were drawn to New Rochelle by the diversity of the community and the quality of the public schools. Rosa's eldest child graduated from New Rochelle High School in 2022, her middle child is a senior at NRHS, and her youngest is a sophomore.

Rosa has been an educator for over twenty years, starting her career as a teacher at a public high school in the Bronx, before earning her doctorate in Teaching and Learning at New York University.  She is a professor of school leadership at Hunter College CUNY.

Over the years, Rosa has been actively involved in advocating for all New Rochelle students through her participation in various committees, PTAs, and through regular attendance at the Board of Education meetings.
